Join our team as an Industrial Operative and play a key role in keeping our Plating Shop running clean, compliant, and efficient. You'll support environmental efforts, assist with waste collection, and help maintain top-tier housekeeping standards—all while contributing to the high-performance operations of Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services.
Tasks
- Follow the LTLGS Integrated Quality Management System (IQ Move)
- Safely package, label, and transport hazardous waste to storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor, pit, and effluent treatment areas to 5S standards
- Top up process tanks and clean tank lips, bus bars, and residues to ensure quality
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance and operate jet-washer during servicing
- Assist with waste preparation and truck loading for external collection
- Conduct alarm tests and maintain paperwork for task completion
- Keep grit blast/shot peen area free of dust buildup
- Support company-wide waste collection and plating production tasks when needed
- Train others based on qualifications and maintain Practical Experience Record (PER)
- Uphold safety and environmental procedures at all times
Requirements
- GCSE level education or equivalent
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Experience with hazardous waste handling and use of PPE preferred
- Forklift/cherry-picker license and aviation or COMAH knowledge are a plus
- Basic IT skills (SAP, Word, Excel, web applications)
- Proactive, reliable, and a strong team player
- Good communicator with time management skills
- Willing to learn, train others, and adapt under pressure
- Based mainly in the Plating Shop; shift work, overtime, and weekend availability may be required
- Role involves manual handling, standing for long periods, and working with greases, oils, and machinery
- Full PPE and training provided
- Mandatory training required
- Must adhere to all safety and environmental regulations
