The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of numerical control (CNC) machines used to cut, shape, and finish metal workpieces in accordance with aerospace and aircraft landing gear component specifications. This position supports Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities by ensuring high precision, traceability, and compliance with aviation regulatory and quality standards.
This is a Night Shift Position (Sunday-Thursday).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines for production by inspecting parts, identifying malfunctions, troubleshooting issues when necessary, and reporting required repairs.
- Perform basic CNC programming and editing.
- Produce high-precision and micro-finish surfaces during turning, facing, and machining of aircraft landing gear components.
- Review setup sheets, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining sequence, setup procedures, and finished part dimensions.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and perform basic shop math.
- Install fixtures, align and secure workpieces using clamps, bolts, hand tools, and measuring devices such as calipers and gauges.
