The key responsibilities and duties of the Deburr Operative include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking blending of damaged components, polishing to improve finishes, and corrosion removal of aircraft components with pneumatic tooling.
- Local NDT of components to aid dressing of ladder cracks.
- Experience in the use of pneumatic tooling desirable.
- Experience with different abrasive grades of flap wheels, but again not essential.
- Able to work in a team environment and on own initiative to complete work tasks provided.
- An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures.
- You will be required to maintain a Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
- You may be required to train personnel in a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.
- All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Engineering apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
- Able to work shifts (early and late shift).
- Previous knowledge of working with metals.
- Knowledge of using small hand tools.
- Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Reading engineering drawings is helpful but not essential.
- It would be beneficial for the individual to have a good knowledge of hand finishing techniques and knowledge of engineering drawings, although not essential.
- Team player.
- Good attitude to workshop housekeeping.
- Able to work to tight deadlines.
- Flexible approach to work.
Working Conditions: Office environment, based in Hayes. Full-time role. Hybrid working policy applicable. Potential travel required.
