We are seeking an Electroplater to join our Aircraft Landing Gear Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the surface treatment of aircraft landing gear components, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards for safety and durability. This role is shift based on 4 days on 4 days off rotation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proven ability to understand and interpret process standard practices, drawings and Company Job cards.
- Previous experience to undertake Material Handling to include workshop Gantry cranes and slings.
- Previous experience in preparation of parts for electroplating (Masking techniques etc.)
- Previous experience to undertake surface preparation by Grit Blasting techniques would be an advantage but not essential.
- The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in a range of the following electroplating processes:
- Cadmium Plate and Dalic Cadmium plate
- Nickel plating
- Hard Chrome plating
- Alocrom
- Nital etch (Acid Etch inspection)
- Heat Treatment of components
Education and Qualifications
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
- Related training by the IMF would be an advantage but not essential.
Experience and Knowledge
- To have worked within a Plating shop environment.
- Have a basic understanding of Processes and procedures associated with Electroplating.
- Experience of working in an EASA 145 environment.
