We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bushfit Honer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the installation and honing of bushes, as well as the fitting and swaging of bearings, ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with OHM, CMM, and SOPM standards. The position is essential to maintaining high standards of quality and meeting Customer Turn Around Times. This is a shift based role Monday to Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify component and bush logs to ensure accuracy and compliance with documentation.
- Install bushes and bearings in accordance with approved workshop manuals, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Measure and inspect bushes dimensionally using calibrated imperial measuring equipment.
- Hone bushes to final specified size, ensuring correct tolerances and surface finish.
- Swage bushings using appropriate methods, including pressure, roller, staking, or material displacement techniques.
- Wire-lock bolts and bushes as required.
- Operate cryogenic equipment and ovens during installation processes when applicable.
- Perform hardness checks and material testing using approved equipment and procedures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of HPA working procedures relevant to the role.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with Company Procedures, Safety Regulations, and Environmental requirements.
Education and Qualifications
- Engineering Qualification or Apprenticeship.
- Ability to measure using imperial measuring equipment.
Experience and Knowledge
- Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or MRO environment is advantageous.
