As a Machine Borer, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality aircraft components, working to fine limits in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Tasks:

  • Operate and maintain a range of boring machines to manufacture precision aircraft components to defined tolerances.
  • Work from technical drawings and measure accurately in imperial units.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of your work.
  • Adhere to company, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and support training where required.
  • Contribute to efficient, compliant machine shop operations.

Requirements:

  • GCSE level education or equivalent.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Essential machining background.
  • Experience with horizontal boring machines desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Competence measuring in imperial units.
  • Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures.
  • IT literacy for basic documentation and records.
  • Aerospace experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Some knowledge of CNC machining desirable.
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Effective communicator and proactive team player.
