As a Machine Borer, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality aircraft components, working to fine limits in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Tasks:
- Operate and maintain a range of boring machines to manufacture precision aircraft components to defined tolerances.
- Work from technical drawings and measure accurately in imperial units.
- Take responsibility for the quality of your work.
- Adhere to company, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and support training where required.
- Contribute to efficient, compliant machine shop operations.
Requirements:
- GCSE level education or equivalent.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Essential machining background.
- Experience with horizontal boring machines desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Competence measuring in imperial units.
- Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures.
- IT literacy for basic documentation and records.
- Aerospace experience advantageous but not essential.
- Some knowledge of CNC machining desirable.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Effective communicator and proactive team player.
