What We're About
We're a UK-based sheet metal fabrication business, and we're at an interesting point in our journey. We've built a solid reputation doing good work, but we've realised we need to be smarter about how we win business and who we work with. Right now, too much of our work comes from one-off projects. What we really want is more "runner" customers: the kind who come back to us time and again because they trust us and we understand their needs. To make that happen, we need someone who can help us tell our story better, create the materials that show what we're capable of, and build a consistent presence that keeps us front of mind with the right people.
The Role
This is primarily a marketing role, but with real commercial impact. You'll be responsible for creating the content, materials, and visibility that help us win and retain long-term customers. Think presentations, brochures, case studies, LinkedIn content: the stuff that makes us look professional and helps our sales conversations land. We're not looking for someone to write a strategy document and disappear. We need someone who'll create the things we need and keep them current, relevant, and working hard for us. The sales side? You'll work closely with Tony, our Head of Sales, who has over 30 years of experience and knows this business inside out. He'll mentor you on the commercial side, help you understand what customers care about, and show you how your marketing work feeds directly into sales conversations. You won't be thrown in the deep end; you'll learn from someone who really knows his stuff.
What You'll Be Doing
- The Core Focus (Marketing & Content Creation):
- Keep our LinkedIn presence active, professional, and engaging: regular posts that position us as the go-to partner for the right customers
- Create and maintain marketing materials: brochures, presentations, one-pagers, case studies, capability documents
- Help us articulate what makes us different and why customers should work with us long-term
- Support targeted campaigns aimed at specific sectors or local businesses
- Keep the website content fresh and aligned with how we want to be seen
- Capture customer success stories and turn them into compelling case studies
- The Sales Support Element (With Tony's Mentorship):
- Support outreach activity (particularly on LinkedIn) with Tony's guidance
- Help with follow-up messaging and keeping prospects warm
- Keep contacts, activity records, and materials organised so nothing slips
- Learn how marketing feeds into the sales pipeline and what actually moves the needle
Who We're Looking For
You'll Need:
- Solid experience or strong capability in marketing, content creation, or communications
- Confident writing skills with a professional, clear tone suited to B2B audiences
- The ability to create good looking marketing materials: presentations, brochures, documents (you don't need to be a designer, but you should be comfortable making things look decent)
- Familiarity with LinkedIn as a business platform
- An organised approach with attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Comfort working in a smaller business where you'll wear a few hats
Bonus Points For:
- Around 2+ years in a marketing or communications role
- Experience in B2B, manufacturing, engineering, or technical sectors (or willingness to learn fast)
- A portfolio or examples of materials you've created
- Understanding of how marketing supports sales (even if you haven't done sales yourself)
