About the Role
This position requires frequent travel across Swindon, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, with a head office base in Gloucester. Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the Head of Quality & Operations Director England you will support the development and embedding of our Quality Improvement & Assurance Framework. You will ensure our services remain compliant with the standards of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and all relevant legislation - while promoting a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct robust audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews across supported living, residential and nursing services.
- Work collaboratively with Regional Directors, Registered Managers and frontline teams to drive quality and safety improvements.
- Produce clear, constructive audit reports and support the development of Service Improvement Plans.
- Escalate concerns appropriately to prevent harm and strengthen service delivery.
- Support governance processes to ensure services are inspection ready.
- Deliver coaching and workshops to Registered Managers and teams to embed reflective practice and improvement planning.
- Contribute to policy development, regulatory compliance frameworks and internal auditing systems.
- Work alongside the Health & Safety Manager to monitor data, fire safety audits, COSHH compliance, and statutory assessments.
- Champion best practice and celebrate positive outcomes across services.
- Represent Iris Care England professionally with families, external professionals and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance within health & social care.
- Thorough understanding of registered supported living and registered care home, service models.
- Inâdepth understanding of all CQC Regulated activity and Registration regulations and HSE regulatory frameworks.
- Experience of communicating and coordinating with the CQC and local authority PAMM's leads.
- Experience of managing safeguarding referrals and notifications.
- Proven track record of delivering quality improvements and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Confident in the use of all MS Office suite, particularly SharePoint, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise a varied workload and work remotely.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly (driver with own vehicle).
Desirable
- Experience in Health & Safety auditing (at least IOSH or equivalent).
- Experience managing complaints, service failures and conflict.
- Experience analysing performance data to inform improvement.
- Ability to operate autonomously within a riskâbased decisionâmaking environment.
