Ludham Primary School and Nursery in the Norfolk Broads is looking for a committed, energetic, and emotionally intelligent Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant. The role is temporary for three terms, with the possibility of becoming permanent from April 2027, and may be full‑time or job share.
Responsibilities
- Support a wide range of children to access learning, develop independence, and thrive socially and emotionally.
- Work flexibly across the school, contributing to high‑quality provision, including outdoor learning and Forest School activities.
- Support teachers to meet the needs of all pupils – from those requiring targeted SEND support to those ready for greater depth and challenge.
- Provide consistency, empathy, and high expectations in supporting children with SEND.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community and build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience working with children.
- A positive, proactive and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- GCSEs of Grade C (or 5) or above in English Language, Maths and Science.
- Commitment to further professional development.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with a range of SEND needs.
- Understanding of how children of all abilities learn, including the more able.
- Interest in outdoor learning.
- Experience delivering a systematic synthetic phonics programme.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEND, outdoor learning, independent learning and inclusion.
