Luddon Construction are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to join our East of Scotland Division. The Site Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, to specification, and in line with company standards. The role requires strong leadership of site teams, close engagement with clients and stakeholders whilst ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Your expertise in civil engineering, site management, and health & safety compliance will be essential in driving successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the necessary labour, plant, staff, and equipment to achieve completion on time, to specification, and within budget.
  • Manage contract programmes to ensure projects are delivered within timescales.
  • Ensure site supervisors are fully briefed on project requirements and priorities.
  • Monitor and control costs to ensure alignment with budgets and financial targets.
  • Ensure the Company Health, Safety, and Environmental Plan is effectively implemented.
  • Manage procurement of materials and plant in line with company processes.
  • Provide quality control of works, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Attend and contribute to internal company meetings (handover meetings, cost meetings, planning sessions).
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Support and coordinate site engineers and supervisors, ensuring accuracy of setting out and records.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, apprentices, and engineers, promoting succession planning and long-term workforce development.
Person Specification:
  • HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager in civil engineering projects.
  • Demonstrable record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to control costs.
  • Confident leader with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
  • Decisive and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
