The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to oversee all pre-construction activities from initial enquiry through to contract award. Working closely with senior management, operational teams, commercial teams and clients, you will be responsible for coordinating bid submissions, managing tender activities, developing delivery strategies and ensuring projects are positioned for successful delivery from the outset.
The successful candidate will provide leadership throughout the tender process, ensuring opportunities are assessed effectively, risks are identified and managed, and submissions are completed to the highest standard. You will also play a key role in developing relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage pre-construction activities from opportunity identification through to contract award.
- Develop tender strategies and manage the bid submission process.
- Coordinate technical, commercial and operational inputs to tender submissions.
- Review tender documentation and identify risks, opportunities and key deliverables.
- Manage client clarifications, negotiations and tender interviews.
- Oversee the preparation of methodologies, programmes and technical submissions.
- Coordinate supplier and subcontractor engagement and procurement strategies during the tender stage.
- Support commercial teams with pricing strategy and tender reviews.
- Develop value engineering solutions and alternative construction methodologies.
