We are looking to recruit a Civils Project Manager to work within our Infrastructure Division for projects in Central and Southern Scotland.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of Power and Energy related civil construction projects to meet their programme, cost, quality and H&S targets. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the best utilisation of the workforce while ensuring that the Site Supervisors are fully briefed on site requirements.
- Being fully aware of the financial targets of each contract and ensuring that the costs are in line with the budget.
- Managing contract programmes to ensure that projects are completed within the allocated timescales.
- Ensuring best practice of all company policies and procedures are adhered to while meeting the needs of the client.
- Ensuring that the workforce is competent to meet the company standards and client needs.
- Ensuring CDM requirements are met within projects.
- Carrying out weekly cost reconciliations of plant, labour and material to ensure projects are managed efficiently.
- Carrying out site visits to monitor that the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Plan is being effectively implemented.
- Implementing company policies and procedures applicable to their project works to ensure they are applied effectively.
- Reporting any no shows or disciplinary issues to the Contracts/General Manager for investigation and necessary action.
- Representing the company at post tender, pre-start, progress and final account meetings with external individuals such as SEPA, HSE, local authorities and statutory service providers.
- Liaising with Training Centre staff regularly to ensure status of workforce competencies are up to date and planning any training requirements.
- Ensuring projects are managed proactively and efficiently.
- Ensuring that contractor design portions are produced and signed off prior to construction.
- Ensuring quality inspections are carried out to demonstrate compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Producing and maintaining project programmes.
- Scoping and procurement of work packages along with project QS.
Qualifications required:
- HNC/D in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- Relevant CSCS Card.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a civil engineering project or site management role.
- Experience in large-scale cut & fill works and precast/in-situ concrete.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to set out civil engineering sites.
- Degree (BSc/Hons) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
- SMSTS 5-day qualification.
- Previous experience as Project Manager in Power and Energy related Civils projects.
