This role aims to enhance interns' understanding of industry standards and best practices, while promoting a proactive approach to workplace safety and environmental stewardship. The successful candidate will assist in various initiatives, including document updating, data entry, and the support of the development of a sustainability dashboard.
The Health, Safety, and Sustainability Internship at Lucy Group offers a dynamic opportunity to support and enhance the company's commitment to a safe, sustainable workplace. The Internship will involve engaging in a variety of projects, from assisting in the reviewing of health and safety documentation, to supporting the development of sustainability initiatives that align with industry best practices. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, providing exposure to real‑world challenges and innovative solutions.
This role will be home based / Lucy Group Oxford office based. Some visits to Lucy Electrics office in Thame may be required.
Key Accountabilities- Document Updating
- Assist in the review and updating of health & safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in the review and updating Task Risk Assessments and Safe Working Procedures.
- Ensure all documentation is current, accurately maintained, and easily accessible.
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations related to health, safety, and sustainability.
- Data Entry
- Collect, verify, and enter data related to sustainability and upload onto our carbon accounting software.
- Support the analysis of data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- CSR Support Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and refining Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) stories and related communications.
- Upload and maintain CSR stories and updates on the company intranet, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal standards.
- Assist in internal comms regarding up‑and‑coming CSR events.
- Preparing CSR comms for external publication ready to send to the marketing team.
- General Support
- Support sustainability initiatives and campaigns (falling under our people, planet and progress pillars) within the company.
- Support with our sustainability reporting.
- Assist with administrative tasks and projects as needed.
- Assist in the design of Safety Campaigns and toolbox talks.
- Reviewing COSHH items against the site register, obtaining the latest Safety Data Sheets.
