We have an exciting opportunity for an Accessory Designer to join the Lucy & Yak Team!
The Accessory Designer will research, design and deliver innovative collections of Accessories, Homeware and gifts, while aligning with our business strategy and key deadlines.
Responsibilities…
- To design and develop accessory designs, focusing on brand identity, aesthetics and functionality.
- Close collaboration with other designers to ensure accessories align with clothing, seasonal prints and colour palette.
- Updating core lines and designing new shapes across accessories, including homeware and gifting.
- Create technical drawings, selecting sustainable materials and overseeing the manufacturing process.
- Liaise with our supplier partners to ensure deadlines are met and milestones achieved within the critical path.
- Contribute to innovation, identifying new ideas within the supply base.
- Work with cross functional teams, Product Development, Garment Tech, Buyers and Merchandisers.
- Work with the Sourcing Manager to source and develop new sustainable fabrics / factories.
- Attend Design trips to research new designs and fabrications.
- Visit existing and new suppliers, to view showrooms for design development and build relationships.

- Be responsible for product briefings to suppliers, developing the product from first prototypes to pre-production samples
- Ensure styles are constructed cost effectively, whilst designing into relevant price range and achieving margin.
- Create accurate and detailed CAD’s, to include BOM’s.
- Understanding of technical performance to ensure products are fit for purpose.
- Attend sample review meetings
- Understand best and worst, current trade, opportunities for growth and newness.
- Ensure samples are correct and ready to present for buy sign off
- Develop strong working relationships with our supplier partners.
- Approve fabric and trims for development
- Contribute to Supplier scorecard process and the supplier strategy
