We are working with a respected Leeds based Law firm who are looking for a Wills & Probate Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop and further their legal career within a supportive setting; the successful candidate will support the Paralegal and Fee Earners within the private client department, ideally with a Wills & Probate background, but other areas of law will also be considered.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients and the wider paralegal team to ensure smooth progression on matters including:
- Assisting with the drafting of wills, codicils, lasting powers of attorney (LPAs) and related documents
- Supporting all aspects of probate and estate administration, including taxable and non-taxable estates
- Preparing probate applications and inheritance tax forms (IHT205 and IHT400)
- Obtaining asset and liability valuations
- Undertaking general administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and diary management
- Attending client meetings where appropriate and accurately recording instructions
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
- Assisting with billing, time recording, and file administration

- An understanding of Wills and Probate (desirable)
- Understanding of probate processes and estate administration
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Professional, empathetic and client-focused approach
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
