Are you an experienced sales leader who thrives on team development, driving performance, and making a tangible impact on business growth? This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established Account Management team of 4 within a successful, innovative business experiencing strong international growth. This newly created role blends strategic thinking, people leadership, and hands-on team support to nurture a high-performing, collaborative culture.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the overall leadership and development of the Account Management team, with a balanced focus on client delivery and internal capability building. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting involved in the day-to-day while also shaping long-term team strategy and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and support the Account Management team to deliver against sales budgets and performance targets
- Monitor and assess individual and team performance, identifying areas for improvement, recognising strengths, and managing succession planning
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management on product launches and ensure the sales team is equipped to maximise opportunities
- Support strategic account planning and ensure clients are fully aware of the full product portfolio, driving long-term partnerships and return on investment
- Champion a solution-focused, proactive sales culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular skills gap analyses and create tailored development plans to elevate team capability
- Travel with team members to client visits, both nationally and internationally, to support relationship management and provide in-the-moment coaching
- Report to the Director of Sales on activity, team development, client spend and account performance
- Work cross-functionally to align sales initiatives with wider business goals and foster a collaborative working environment
What We're Looking For
- A proven people leader with experience managing Account Managers or Sales teams
- Strong B2B sales experience, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, or similar sectors
- A natural coach and mentor, with a track record of team development and performance improvement
- Commercially astute, with the ability to report on KPIs, client spend, and team output
- A confident communicator who can influence, challenge, and motivate
- Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day team support
- Energetic, driven, and committed to creating a positive, high-achieving team culture
