FULLY OFFICE BASED IN NORTH YORKSHIRE
We are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing organisation operating across multiple locations within the agricultural and related sectors. As the business continues to grow and invest in new systems, technology and processes, they are looking to appoint an experienced Business Analyst & Data Insights Specialist. This is a newly created role focused on turning business data into clear, useful information that helps the Senior Leadership Team make better, data-informed decisions. You will analyse information from across the business, identify key trends and insights, and present these clearly to support business performance and future planning.
This role will not suit someone looking for a hybrid or remote role - you must be within a commutable distance to Harrogate. The client does not offer sponsorship for this role.
The Role
This is a hands-on and commercially focused position for someone who enjoys turning data into meaningful information that can genuinely improve business performance. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and teams across the organisation, understanding what information they need, developing effective reporting solutions and using data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the organisation's Business Intelligence and data strategy.
- Establish and develop the BI function, including processes, governance and future team capability.
- Design and deliver clear, user-friendly dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Work with complex datasets and develop effective data models.
- Ensure data is accurate, consistent, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve operational processes.
- Work with modern data and automation platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Alteryx or similar.
- Work with teams across the business to understand their reporting and data requirements.
- Translate complex data into clear and commercially useful insights.
- Support senior management with information to improve business and operational decision making.
- Help develop a stronger data-led culture across the organisation.
You will have:
- Strong experience within a senior BI, Data Analytics or Business Analysis position.
- Advanced Power BI experience.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling and working with complex datasets.
- Experience with modern analytics and automation platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Alteryx or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to turn data into clear, meaningful business insight.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with non-technical stakeholders.
- A commercially minded approach and an understanding of how data can support business performance.
- The confidence and initiative to take ownership of a new function and make it your own.
