We are working with one of our long-standing clients, a well-established and highly regarded organisation based in North Yorkshire, who are looking to appoint a Compliance Officer to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with Health & Safety experience who is ready for their next step, or an experienced professional looking for a varied role where no two days are quite the same.

You will have the opportunity to work across the organisation, combining compliance, risk assessments and policy work with plenty of time out on site, working with different teams and helping to maintain a safe environment for everyone.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with the Estates Manager and wider teams, you'll support a broad range of Health & Safety activities, including:

  • Supporting and maintaining Health & Safety policies, procedures and compliance records.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, inspections, audits and compliance checks.
  • Making sure statutory inspections, testing and servicing are completed and recorded.
  • Supporting compliance across areas including Fire Safety, Asbestos, Legionella, COSHH, CDM and contractor management.
  • Keeping compliance registers and documentation up to date.
  • Following up actions from inspections, audits and risk assessments.
  • Supporting accident, incident and near-miss reporting.
  • Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to colleagues.
  • Helping to deliver Health & Safety training and e-learning.
  • Working with contractors, external specialists and relevant authorities when required.
  • Supporting wider estates compliance, including vehicles, site security and events.
  • Preparing reports and updates for senior colleagues and Health & Safety meetings.

About you

We're looking for someone with at least 2 years' recent Health & Safety experience who is confident working with people, organised in their approach. You will work as part of a collaborative team.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • A NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience completing risk assessments, audits and inspections.
  • Experience working with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The confidence to provide advice, guidance and training to colleagues.
  • A practical, approachable and proactive attitude.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work across a busy and varied environment.

Please note: Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to every candidate individually. If you have not heard from us within 7 days, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
