Job Description

We are recruiting for an Assistant/Junior Merchandiser to join a growing fashion team based in Leeds.

You will work closely with the Head of Planning and Buying teams to provide data-driven insights that support forward planning, trading decisions, and long-term category strategy. You will be part of a friendly supportive team. Our client offers ongoing support and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse previous season performance with supporting data and commentary.
  • Partner with Buyers and the Head of Planning to create category mix strategies.
  • Ensure buying aligns with signed-off buy plans.
  • Manage availability and performance of CORE lines; conduct periodic reviews.
  • Monitor new season line performance; identify trading risks and opportunities.
  • Track and communicate variances against plan and Year-on-Year performance.
  • Provide insights on trial lines, new initiatives, and promotional performance.
  • Provide summaries and recommendations during End-of-Season and Clearance events.
  • Offer timely, concise insight to support decision making.

Skills & Experience

  • KNOWLEDGE WITH WSSI
  • Previous experience in a Merchandising or Planning role within retail or similar.
  • Highly proficient; Advanced Excel
  • Experience with Power Pivot, and Power BI is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Understanding of the full customer journey and how Planning contributes to overall business performance.
  • Awareness of current industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management.
  • Clear and confident communication, tailored to your audience.
