To provide support and contribute in Local Purchasing activities for implementing key procurement strategies and contingency plans in line with departmental and organizational goals.

Lucy Electric is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, specialising in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.

The role reports to the site Purchase Manager and is directly related to activities carried out in the UK and Lucy’s interactions with subsidiary companies around the world. The role is based in Thame, UK, although it may entail travelling to suppliers in the UK and abroad.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieving defined Key Performance Indicators for the above functions as decided by management.
  • Being an active part of the operational team to affect daily tasks.
  • Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities as required to maintain and improve the Procurement function and Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Supporting other projects external to the Procurement function, such as Continuous Improvement initiatives, sustainability programmes, and new product introduction.

This role is office-based Monday to Thursday with home working on Friday.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Support in ensuring GPP Compliance.
  • Assisting in purchase functions like raising RFQ, preparing comparison statements, and updating Vendor Trade Agreements.
  • Maintaining Price Log and communicating prices to the Supply Chain Team.
  • Raising OSR for New Parts pertaining to regular orders and quarterly price updates in D365.
  • Vendor onboarding documentation and maintaining vendor onboarding records.
  • Non-inventory Purchasing – Raising PO based on Purchase requisitions and expediting deliveries as required.
  • Monitoring overdue non-inventory PO and updating scrap rates internally.
  • Supporting activities for generating and maintaining Annual Maintenance Contracts related to Maintenance, Facilities, and Infrastructure.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Understanding of the principles of Procurement and Purchasing.
  • Working knowledge of ERP, preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365.
  • Numeracy skills to interpret statistics and make commercial decisions.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
