Job Purpose
To design and develop high-quality electro-mechanical solutions for low voltage power distribution systems, including sheet metal enclosures and structural components. The role focuses on delivering accurate CAD designs, detailed manufacturing documentation, and robust product specifications in line with ISO 9001 standards.
Working collaboratively with production, quality, and technical sales teams, the position ensures efficient product development, supports manufacturing processes, and contributes to continuous improvement, product reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Job Context
This role sits within the Design & Development function, delivering electro-mechanical solutions for low voltage (LV) power distribution systems within an ISO 9001 environment.
The Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Technical Sales to ensure designs are robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable. The role supports the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to prototype validation, new product introduction (NPI), and production support.
Operating in a multidisciplinary environment, the role integrates mechanical and electrical design, supports supplier engagement, and resolves design and manufacturing challenges. It also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability, standardisation, and engineering practices, while managing multiple projects and ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
