As the Equipped Pillar compliance engineer, you will manage all compliance requirements for equipped pillar products and maintain standards. You will oversee risk-related projects, handle reporting channels, and maintain QMS standards and processes. To ensure success as a compliance engineer, industry-specific experience in LV feeder pillar and/or LV switchgear distribution is essential.

Lucy Zodion is an industry leader in advanced street lighting controls, power distribution, and electric vehicle (EV) supply solutions. Our products assist customers with energising urban and highway infrastructure from the ground up. Our range includes photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeder pillars, isolators, cut-outs, and switchgear.

Ensuring the company's technical compliance with applicable laws and regulations BS7671 and BSEN 61439:

  • Conducting tests and studies into the company's product compliance
  • Maintaining QMS for equipped pillar products and processes
  • Producing reports on compliance testing, developments, and processes
  • Producing and maintaining product design books
  • Instituting best-practice procedures for compliance and risk mitigation
  • Developing strategies and implementation plans for compliance-related matters
  • Explaining and defining compliance protocols and measures to stakeholders and relevant authorities
  • Maintaining existing product range to ensure compliance with the latest relevant standards
  • Managing complaints and technical issues relating to product design and manufacturing
  • Advising management on compliance-related matters
  • Checking the status of various business operations to ensure compliance with regulations

To be successful as a compliance engineer, you will have a sound technical LV background and be up to date with the latest regulatory developments in the industry. The ideal person for this position requires solid analytical skills alongside the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to colleagues and management.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create and maintain test programs for all equipped pillar products to the necessary regulation(s)
  • Sourcing testing capabilities for product ranges
  • Manage products through compliance testing
  • Ensure compliance registers for all product testing including testing documentation/certifications
  • Manage the effective root cause and corrective action for any product/process failures
  • Update and maintain QMS product standards and processes

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years working as a compliance, applications, or development engineer in LV distribution
  • Experience in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory/QMS frameworks
  • Experience with product testing and process analysis
  • Skilled in business operations or project management
  • Experience in communicating complex ideas verbally and in writing
  • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of LV product/process design
  • Problem-solving abilities are essential
  • HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Team-focused
  • Analytical and ability to problem-solve
  • Calm and logical under pressure
  • Tenacious with some level of autonomy
