As part of the Industrial sales team, assist the Regional Sales Manager within his/her territory or area of operation to achieve maximum sales potential. Supporting the sales of the complete Lucy Electric product range into the UK with particular emphasis on building sales into the industrial sector. Assisting customers with projects and troubleshooting on products.
Lucy Electric is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, with features such as remote operation and monitoring. Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.
The Industrial Sales Team is one of three main segment teams making up the overall LEUK Sales Team – the other two being the DNO Team and the Export Team. All three Teams are supported by the Tendering Team and have a designated Tendering Engineer assigned to them. The Industrial Sales Team has had great success over the last few years and is now a large part of Lucy Electric UK’s revenue stream and makes up more than 50% of the LEUK income. Key deliverables into the Industrial Market are the sale of IDNO/DNO approved equipment, package substations and third-party equipment into the ICP, IDNO, EV, Renewables, Private & Rail markets. Key growth areas for the Industrial Sector Sales team are in the EV & Renewables markets which this role will be targeted on.
The position is home-based, an extensive training program, meetings and monitoring of progress would require frequent travel to the Thame Office and other areas of the UK. The Employee’s home base must be located on the UK mainland.
Key Accountabilities:
- Seek out new customers by way of "cold calling" and following up leads covering the whole range of products and services offered by the company.
- Negotiate Contracts.
- Carry out presentations to customers.
- Assist Head of Industrial Sales in handling account problems, and liaise closely with the UK Sales Office, Service, Technical and Contracts Departments.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as identified by the organisation.
- Ensure that customer records are maintained via the CRM system and that regular courtesy visits are paid to relevant customers.
- Gather market and customer information and provide feedback to the organisation.
- Represent the organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
- Present an efficient and professional attitude at all times.
- Submit monthly sales report to the Head of UK Industrial Sales.
- Develop professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state‑of‑the‑art practices; participating in professional societies.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:
Essential:
- Electrical or mechanical engineering HNC and above or Relevant industry experience.
- Full drivers licence.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in a one on one or group environment.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of selling to UK DNOs, EPCs, EV CPOs, ICPs, IDNOs and consultants.
- Understanding of commercial terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of secondary electrical distribution systems.
- Ability to read design specifications and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of tendering and other commercial processes.
