HV/LV Authorised Person
We seek an experienced, talented, and focused LV/HV Authorised Person to join our dynamic team currently delivering installation, maintenance, and product support services for LV/HV assets across the South East of England or Scotland.

You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of LV/HV services to our clients and customers. As part of our team, you will support peers in the delivery of HV engineering and be required to lead projects when called on. Job Dimensions
Home based with travel to site works included. Core hours: 07:30‑16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30‑12:00 Friday. Contract: 5 working days Monday to Saturday; additional weekend and overtime may be required.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the delivery of projects covering construction, LV/HV asset maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and product support.
- Issue, monitor and manage safety documents related to relevant safe rules.
- Installation, refurbishment, maintenance of LV/HV equipment.
- Interpret electrical drawings and records.
- Carry out electrical testing and fault finding.
- Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs.
- Complete assessment and completion reports.
- Schedule and coordinate site work with engineers, sub‑contractors and utilities companies.
- Assist in job costing, material specifications and logistics.
- Maintain Authorised Person competence (Min LV Switching).
- Plan outages, produce switching programmes and safety paperwork for HV/LV switching activities.
- Assess safety and apply required controls and safety measures.
- Complete RAMS, job packs, test certificates and reports.
- Facilitate a safe working environment during high/low voltage work.
- Ensure work meets Lucy Electric’s standards, policies and procedures and those of customers.
- Maintain authorisations in accordance with legislation, safety procedures and industry best practice.
- Liaise closely with team to understand and manage priorities.
- Attend training and continuous development opportunities as required.

- Electrical commissioning.
- Fault finding.
- PASMA, IPAF, SMSTS.
- HV Switching.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in Electrical and/or distribution industry.
- Holding AP Authorisation – SSEN, UKPN, Private Networks.
- Certified in Electricity at Work and experience delivering services to customers onsite or office.
- Good knowledge of H&S and practical implications.
- Good knowledge of Distribution Safety rules and application.
- Computer literate – MS Office.
- Technically qualified with BTEC, C&G or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
- Full driver’s licence, willingness to travel within UK, and ability to work weekends as overtime.
- Valid authorisations – Private Networks, UKPN, WPD or other DNO.
Desirable (additional)
- Training – first aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS.
- 18th edition / 2391 inspection & testing.
- Mentoring trainees.
- Willingness to attend call outs.
