Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for LEUK Production Planning activities in collaboration and support of all LEUK business entities and to deliver On Time In Full (OTIF) targets for all customers, both internally and externally. Full utilization of planning software in Microsoft D365 will be required with bespoke training provided.

Lucy Electric is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, with features such as remote operation and monitoring. Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.

Job Context:

Working under the Planning Manager and alongside the UK Operations team and Production Operatives to ensure customer orders are facilitated and completed to meet monthly targets. As an operations team member, you will engage across all business sectors to ensure challenges are addressed and resolved to ensure maintain production plans are adhered to (planned versus actual). Continuous Personal Development (CPD) is catered for to ensure individual and company needs are met.

Job Dimensions:

This is a role based in Thame with standard hours of 07:00 – 15:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:00 – 12:00 on Fridays. These times can be negotiated and amended to suit the individual.

Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for:

  • Production Planning under the Planning manager to ensure realistic planning schedules for all production lines.
  • Identify planning constraints with Operations team towards avoidance of delays or shortages.
  • Utilise planning software and systems to proactively identify trends and opportunities.
  • Support business entities with analytical information using systems (D365 and Power BI)
  • Work with Operations team on actions to reduce planned versus action shortfalls.
  • Provide support to shop floor through feedback and opportunities.
  • Work cross functionally to achieve planning accuracy on requests from internal customers.
  • Proactively manage delays and communicate to all key stakeholders.
  • Upload new products into D365 and ensure maintained.
  • Assist the Planning Manager to implement all Engineering Change Notifications across production BoM’s.
  • Work through slow moving and obsolete stock items and drive inventory reduction initiatives with the Operations Manager and Finance.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) phase in and phase out work to reduce financial inventory loss.
  • Review and maintain minimum stock levels with the Planning Manager and purchasing Team to avoid unplanned shortages.
  • Support Quality Assurance with additional customer / warranty planning considerations outside production planning scope.
  • Continuous Improvement across all production areas to promote best practice.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, And Experience

  • Understanding of MRP systems.
  • Numeracy skills to GCSE level (NVQ level 3 or above).
  • Experience in Manufacturing environment.
  • Computer – specifically in Microsoft Office & Microsoft D365.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
