The position is responsible for creating and maintaining an integrated Master Production Schedule (MPS) that aligns customer demand with production, procurement, logistics, and inventory strategies. This role drives coordination across all departments that impact or are impacted by the production schedule to ensure operational efficiency and service delivery.

As a key member of the Operations / Supply Chain team, this role operates at the intersection of manufacturing, sales, engineering, procurement, logistics, and customer service. This position plays a pivotal role in aligning supply capabilities with business demand in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Owns and maintains the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the site/region/business unit.
- Facilitates cross-functional scheduling meetings and conflict resolution processes.
- Leads scheduling process improvement initiatives across departments.
- Provides key inputs for S&OP and demand/supply planning processes.
- Reports on and improves performance KPIs such as schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.
- Works with ERP planning systems to ensure data accuracy and schedule visibility.
- Drives change management and supports system enhancements.
Key accountabilities
- Master Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain a forward-looking MPS based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and resource availability; optimize production flow and inventory levels while ensuring on-time customer delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the scheduling point of contact for production, engineering, procurement, customer service, and logistics teams; align stakeholders around schedule changes, priorities, and issue resolution.
- Process Improvement & Change Management: Identify and implement improvements in scheduling processes and governance; lead cross-functional initiatives that improve schedule accuracy, responsiveness, and transparency.
- System & Data Management: Maintain accuracy and consistency of schedule data in the ERP system (Dynamics 365); collaborate with IT and system administrators to enhance planning and reporting capabilities.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on key scheduling KPIs; analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years’ experience in production planning, master scheduling or supply chain management in a discrete manufacturing environment.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365); strong Excel and data analysis skills; familiarity with demand planning, capacity planning and inventory control.
- Certifications (Preferred): APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent supply chain certification.
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; strong analytical and problem-solving ability; proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change; detail-oriented with a big-picture mindset.
