Lucy Cavendish College, part of the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a driven individual to work within the Student Office, supporting the Assistant Senior Tutor β Pastoral.
The Student Office is responsible for student academic progress and welfare and wellbeing. Duties include providing administrative support; acting as the first point of contact for the team; organising meetings, taking minutes and following up agreed actions; preparing, proofreading and amending documents; assisting with the preparation of budgets and monitoring expenditure throughout the year; maintaining student databases; responding to student queries; assisting with Student Office programmes and events. The role holder will experience changes in priorities through the academic year so they must be well organised, flexible and able to handle new situations as they arise.
The post holder will have significant administrative experience and exemplary organisational skills. You will have diary management experience and be comfortable with minute taking. In addition to some project planning and delivery experience, you will have the ability to carry out background research for team members, have experience of developing processes and procedures and be able to demonstrate strong IT skills.
Alongside excellent written communication skills, you will have the highest level of professionalism, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with confidential information, sensitive issues or high-profile contacts. You will be confident and proactive with the ability to work using own initiative and judgment. With an interest and willingness to engage in all the areas of the role, and to support other members of the Student Office team as circumstances demand, you will be able to manage a demanding and occasionally pressurised workload.
