Responsibilities
- Teach Drama across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A‑level, using AQA specifications.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that foster confidence, creativity and resilience in students.
- Collaborate with the Director of Drama and peripatetic Drama teachers to support pupils through external qualifications.
- Organise and direct large‑scale productions, showcases and performances.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress, ensuring continuity and progression in learning.
- Support the pastoral care of students as a Form Tutor, including monitoring attendance, behaviour and academic progress.
- Contribute to the school’s enrichment programme and extra‑curricular activities, including theatre trips and clubs.
Qualifications
Essential:
- A good honours degree in Drama or a related subject.
- PGCE or equivalent qualification with QTS.
- Experience teaching Drama up to and including A‑level.
- A strong record of directing school productions or performances.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Specialist qualifications or experience in areas such as technical theatre, musical theatre, LAMDA, or examination board delivery.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in Drama education or theatre practice.
- Experience of leading cross‑department projects or whole‑school productions.
