Role Summary
As a Senior Static Mechanical Engineer at Mitsubishi Chemical, you will be a subject matter expert, responsible for your field of work. Ensuring project objectives are met by working with static equipment such as reactors, distillation/separation columns, and heat exchangers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a team working towards common goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for Global Strategic Projects; accountable for the technical integrity of static mechanical equipment and packages, ensuring correct installation per manufacturer and design specifications.
- Approve Technical Bid Evaluations and recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering contractors.
- Assist in vendor identification, assessment, and selection for static mechanical equipment.
- Ensure equipment/packages are specified and procured to be technically robust and cost-effective, liaising with process licensors and project team members.
- Support plant commissioning activities at the site.
- Define quality requirements, inspections, test plans, and performance criteria for equipment specifications and acceptance.

Qualifications/Experience

- Degree qualified (or equivalent), UK Chartered Mechanical Engineer preferred.
- Experience with complex engineering issues involving design contractors, process licensors, and vendors.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
