Job Purpose: Responsible for the safe and efficient management of all materials, supplies and equipment required by RPAs and LRPS clients for work with ionising radiations. Managing the safe receipt of NORM samples and facilitating their delivery and turnaround at a designated laboratory. Performing RPS duties at the Westhill site, and occasionally at client sites on- or offshore.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Managing stock of calibrated radiation monitors
- Ensuring all monitors are calibrated and in good working order
- Assisting Lab staff in an RPS (Radiation Protection Supervisor) role
- Facilitating the receipt and delivery of NORM samples
- Maintaining all PPE and RPE requirements for RPAs and clients, as instructed
- Maintaining a stock of radiation related consumables
- Occasional auditing of processes and procedures
- Assisting RPAs and clients with disposal routes for radioactive waste e.g. smoke detectors
- Deliveries to clients
Required:
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Work effectively with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Work to tight deadlines, problem solve and generate workable solutions
- Work with LRPS databases
- Reliable and presentable
- Focused and organized
- Maintain high standards of work
Qualifications:
- Minimum five yearsβ experience working as a store person / material coordinator
- UK (manual) driving license
- Knowledge of UK customs import / export declarations (preferred, but training will be provided)
- Dangerous goods course β road / sea (preferred but training will be provided)
