Senior Asbestos Analyst
(Trusted judgement. Technical leadership. Done right — every time.)
Let’s be clear — asbestos analysis at this level isn’t about rushing samples or ticking boxes. It's about experience, sound judgement, and knowing when to stand your ground.
At Lucion, our analysts play a critical role in keeping people safe and projects moving. We deliver defensible, high‑quality analytical services that clients trust across construction, infrastructure, and the built environment. As a purpose‑driven, beyond net‑zero business operating across 12 sectors worldwide, we value technical excellence, professionalism, and people who take pride in doing things properly.
We’re now looking for a Senior Asbestos Analyst to join our Hazardous Materials team. This is a field‑based role, with your nearest local office likely to be our Gatwick facility.
What You’ll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
This is a senior, hands‑on role where your experience directly supports safe working practices and compliant project delivery.
- Carry out air monitoring and airborne fibre counting in line with current guidance
- Inspect contractors’ remediation works and complete 4‑stage clearance, signing off compliant removals or challenging works that don’t meet the standard
- Collect accurate factual and numerical site data using a phablet device, generating clear, defensible reports through our award‑winning NexGen system
- Work fully in line with asbestos legislation and guidance, including HSG248 and relevant construction regulations
- Maintain your own QHSE documentation and comply with internal assurance processes
- Provide a professional, calm, and knowledgeable service to clients — answering queries and offering clear technical advice where needed
- Communicate effectively with clients, management, Technical Support, and fellow analysts
In short: trusted site‑based analytical work, delivered with confidence, consistency, and care.
About You (Experienced, Dependable, Confident In Your Judgement)
You know the standards. You understand the responsibility. And you’re comfortable making the call when it matters.
You’ll Likely
- Hold BOHS P403 and P404, RSPH equivalents, or a Certificate of Competence
- Have a strong working knowledge of HSG248 (The Analysts’ Guide)
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence
- Be flexible with travel and occasional out‑of‑hours working
- Work effectively on your own while remaining a reliable part of a wider team
- Bring a strong work ethic and a calm, professional approach to site work
You’re practical, professional, and trusted by both colleagues and clients.
What You’ll Get in Return (Because Good Work Deserves Good Support)
Role
We look after our people so they can focus on doing their job properly, so alongside a welcoming, professional environment and a role that genuinely matters, you’ll also benefit from:

- Healthcare Cash Plan – help with everyday healthcare costs
- Paid travel time contributing to your core 40‑hour week — typically worth £3,000–£4,000 annually
- Working away allowances for short‑and‑long‑term assignments
- Reward platform including wellbeing support, cycle‑to‑work scheme, and discounts at 800+ retailers
- Enhanced family leave – because life happens
- Option to buy extra holiday – time off actually matters
- Training & development – keep your career moving forward
- Flexible working, backed by a business that genuinely cares
Why Lucion?
Because standards matter here. Because your judgement is respected — not second‑guessed. And because you want to work for a business that values technical expertise as much as it values people.
