Radiation safety isn't about drama. It's about judgement, clarity, and knowing exactly what you're doing — especially when others don't.
We're looking for an experienced Radiation Protection Advisor to join our established team and help clients navigate complex compliance requirements with confidence. If you're someone who can translate regulations into practical solutions, keep standards high, and support others along the way, you'll feel right at home here.
What You'll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
This isn't a single-site, same-routine role. You'll work across a diverse project portfolio, supporting clients with advice that keeps people safe, operations compliant, and standards uncompromised.
- Provide clear, practical radiation protection advice to clients
- Prepare and review risk assessments, procedures and technical documentation
- Conduct onshore and offshore audits, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
- Deliver radiation protection training courses
- Mentor trainee RPAs working toward RPA2000 certification
- Share insight and best practice across projects and sectors
In short: you're the expert people rely on when it really matters.
You'll Probably Love This Role If...
- You enjoy solving complex compliance challenges
- You're equally comfortable advising clients or mentoring colleagues
- You can balance technical depth with practical judgement
- You like autonomy, but value a strong team around you
- You believe safety and pragmatism should always work together
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Valid RPA certification
- Experience advising within at least one relevant industry sector
- Excellent communication — written, verbal and technical
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable Extras
- Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) certification (or working towards)
- DGSA certification or knowledge of Class 7 transport regulations
What You'll Get in Return (Because Good Work Deserves Good Support)
We look after our people so they can focus on doing their job properly, so alongside a welcoming, professional environment and a role that genuinely matters, you'll also benefit from:
- Techscheme – vouchers towards commuting or home tech
- Healthcare Cash Plan – help with everyday healthcare costs
- Reward platform including wellbeing support, cycle-to-work scheme, and discounts at 800+ retailers
- Enhanced family leave – because life happens
- Option to buy extra holiday – time off actually matters
- Training & development – keep your career moving forward
- Flexible working, backed by a business that genuinely cares
Why This Role?
Because your expertise deserves to be used — not boxed in. Because clients need advisers they can trust, not just consultants who quote guidance. And because you want to work somewhere that values technical integrity as much as delivery.
If you're ready to bring your experience to a team that respects precision, supports growth, and takes radiation protection seriously (without taking itself too seriously), we'd love to hear from you.
