You will be a Dual-Trained Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst, working full-time for our Hazardous Materials team, based in the Stoke on Trent area. You will be field-based, traveling between sites within the region.

What you will do

You’ll be out on site, working with clients, contractors and colleagues to make sure asbestos risks are properly identified, managed and controlled.

  • Management, refurbishment and demolition surveys.
  • Asbestos in the ground surveys and inspections.
  • Air monitoring and airborne fibre counting.
  • 4-stage clearances and reoccupation testing.
  • Inspecting remediation works and making sure contractors have actually done the job properly.
  • Recording site information using a phablet and our NexGen reporting system.
  • Producing accurate, defensible reports.
  • Talking to clients, answering questions and providing practical asbestos advice.
  • Working to the relevant legislation and guidance, including HSG248 and HSG264.
  • Keeping your QHSE paperwork up to date and following our internal quality processes.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified in P402, P403 and/or P404, RSPH equivalent, or holds a relevant Certificate of Competence.
  • Comfortable working to HSG248 and HSG264.
  • An experienced asbestos professional with sound technical judgement.
  • Happy working independently while still being part of a supportive team.
  • Calm when things get busy and confident when challenging work that isn’t up to standard.
  • Comfortable travelling between sites.
  • A holder of a full UK manual driving licence.
  • Most importantly, you care about doing a quality job.
