We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Drainage Engineer to come and join us here at Lucion Delta-Simons as part of our friendly and supportive water team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about drainage design. You will be working on a diverse range of planning application projects for a wide range of public and private sector clients. This is a part-time or full-time, permanent role where we can offer a competitive salary depending on skills and experience and are ideally looking to join us in our Manchester or London offices.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Working as a Drainage Engineer within Water Services, you would see projects through from conception to delivery, including:
- Assisting on projects from inception to completion, to develop a wide range of technical, project management and commercial skills.
- Preparing Drainage Strategies and supporting planning documents.
- Contributing to drainage designs that comply with the current industry codes and standards, producing detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Involvement in product development and completion of other flood risk and drainage projects for existing and emerging markets.
- Building relationships with the team, across other technical disciplines within the Lucion Group and with clients.
- Mentoring of staff within the team to support their professional development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science, or demonstration of equivalent qualifications or experience;
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in drainage design, including surface water and foul systems from concept through to detailed design, with a comprehensive understanding of design guidance, relevant regulatory processes and planning policy;
- Experience in SuDS design, from concept through to design stage;
- Proficient in AutoCAD;
- Understanding of pumping station design;
- Understanding of flood risk assessment and its implications for drainage strategies;
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude;
- Confidence working with clients and collaborating in teams.
Desirable:
- Experience of managing projects and liaising with both clients and statutory consultees;
- Experience of using GIS (preferably QGIS);
- Member of a Professional Body with ambition to work toward Chartered status;
- Experience of Section 104, Section 106 and Section 278 design.
