Birmingham, West Midlands | Field-Based | Full-Time

If you know your P402 from your P45, can tell your AIB from your ACM, and take genuine pride in getting the details right…

Asbestos surveying isn’t about racing around sites, ticking boxes and calling it a day.

It’s about accuracy, professional judgement and knowing that the information you collect can make a real difference to people’s safety.

At Lucion, our surveyors help clients understand asbestos risk, manage it properly and keep projects moving safely and compliantly.

Around Birmingham and across the West Midlands, you’ll work across a wide variety of buildings and projects where your expertise genuinely matters.

We’re a purpose-driven, beyond-net-zero business working across 12 sectors worldwide — but at site level, our approach is simple: Do good work.

Do it properly.

Look after your people.

  • What You’ll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
  • Carry out all disciplines of asbestos surveying and inspection, including Management, Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys, plus asbestos in the ground.
  • Travel across Birmingham, the West Midlands and the surrounding areas to visit client sites.
  • Collect accurate factual and numerical site data using a phablet device, producing high-quality reports through our award-winning Nex Gen system.
  • Work in line with all relevant asbestos legislation and guidance, including HSG264, HSE requirements and construction regulations.
  • Maintain your personal QHSE documentation and follow our internal assurance processes.
  • Provide a professional, friendly service to clients, answering questions and offering clear advice and interpretation where needed.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and contractors — because good surveying is about more than collecting samples.
  • Deliver accurate, consistent work without taking shortcuts.

About You

  • You understand that asbestos surveying comes with responsibility — and you take that responsibility seriously.
  • Hold BOHS P402, an RSPH equivalent qualification, or a Certificate of Competence.
  • Have a good working knowledge of HSG264 (The Survey Guide).
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
  • Be based in or around Birmingham, the West Midlands or the surrounding areas.
  • Be comfortable travelling across the West Midlands and the wider Midlands, and occasionally further afield.
  • Be flexible when occasional out-of-hours work is required.
  • Be confident working independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
  • Bring a strong work ethic and a practical, professional approach to site work.
  • Be someone clients and colleagues can rely on.
  • What You’ll Get in Return

  • Healthcare Cash Plan to help with everyday healthcare costs.
  • Techscheme vouchers towards commuting or home technology.
  • Reward platform including wellbeing support, cycle-to-work and discounts at 800+ retailers.
  • Enhanced family leave - because life doesn’t stop when you leave site.
  • Option to buy extra holiday - because sometimes you just need another day off.
  • Training & development to keep your career moving forward.
  • Flexible working, backed by a business that genuinely cares about its people.
  • Managers who understand site work, value your expertise and trust you to get the job done.
