We're now looking for a Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our multidisciplinary environmental consultancy team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with client-facing consultancy and takes pride in delivering work that stands up to scrutiny.
What You'll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
- Manage and deliver environmental noise and vibration assessments
- Undertake building acoustics assessments and advise on acoustic design solutions
- Conduct noise monitoring surveys and analyse acoustic data
- Prepare high-quality technical reports in line with UK standards and guidance
- Undertake acoustic modelling using industry-standard software
- Support planning applications through detailed noise and vibration assessments
- Liaise directly with clients, architects, planners, local authorities, and project stakeholders
- Manage project budgets, resources, and programme delivery
- Mentor and support junior consultants and graduates
- Contribute to business development activities and maintain strong client relationships

About You (Technical, Practical, Solutions-Focused)
You understand that effective acoustic consultancy balances technical accuracy, commercial awareness, and real-world application. You'll likely:
- Hold a degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Be a Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA), or working towards Chartered status
- Have proven experience within environmental and/or building acoustics consultancy
- Have a strong understanding of UK guidance and standards, including BS 4142, BS 8233, and ProPG
- Be experienced using acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA or SoundPLAN
- Produce clear, concise, and technically robust reports
- Be confident managing multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Hold a full UK driving licence

- Experience undertaking BREEAM acoustic assessments
- Sound insulation testing experience
- Knowledge of vibration assessments and monitoring
- Project management or team leadership experience
- Commercial awareness and business development experience
