We\’re actively seeking an enthusiastic Analytical Chemist. Here at Lucideon, we support clients across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear, healthcare, and advanced materials by performing analysis across the value chains of our many clients.

Job Purpose:

Lucideon have recently moved to a state-of-the-art facility based in Stone, Staffordshire, which offers a brilliant working environment and has enabled significant investment for growth. Our unique combination of expert consultative support combined with world-class analytical laboratories means that we don’t just sell tests – we solve the toughest challenges for our clients!

As an Analytical Chemist, you would support with the delivery of short and long-term development work on a wide range of client samples. Working in our Chemistry team, you will support the development and validation of new analytical methods and deliver projects, which solve problems for our clients. No two days are the same as you’ll be at the forefront of solving critical problems for our customers across a huge breadth of areas, encompassing both standard and novel testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of clearly defined multi-disciplinary development projects to time and scope
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and strive to provide a safe, creative environment for colleagues to develop and meet their aspirations
  • Analyse client samples to a high standard
  • Support the development and validation of analytical methods
  • Build knowledge of existing technologies
  • Work in accordance with ISO 17025
  • Diligent record keeping, reporting and documentation of work

Key Person Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
  • Any experience of working in an analytical chemistry laboratory with particular expertise in organic chemistry would be advantageous, but not mandatory

Key Skills & Qualities:

  • Ability to understand analytical methods and instruments being used
  • Knowledge or experience of the following analytical techniques would be advantageous, but not mandatory:
    • Cmbustion Analyser
    • IC
    • ICP OES/-MS
    • HS/GC-MS
    • LC-MS/UV
    • FTIR
  • Strong worth ethic and ability to work flexibly across different teams to meet business demand
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A strong commitment to meet and exceed delivery schedules
  • A drive to learn and grow, with a natural curiosity
  • Highly motivated with an inclusive ‘one team’ approach
