Overview: We're recruiting for an experienced Lead Software Developer to join a high-profile Government digital programme delivering large-scale citizen-facing services. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll help shape engineering strategy, mentor development teams and drive best practice across the software development life cycle. Working alongside architects, principal engineers and multidisciplinary Agile teams, you'll be instrumental in delivering secure, scalable and resilient digital services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership across multiple software engineering teams.
- Champion modern software engineering best practices, standards and delivery processes.
- Remain hands-on where required while setting technical direction for delivery teams.
- Design and lead the development of reusable libraries, shared services and scalable software components.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and technical stakeholders to define the long-term engineering vision.
- Ensure usability, accessibility, security, resilience and scalability of digital services.
