3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer - Project & Support
Location: London, Kent, Sittingbourne, Remote - Hybrid Working
Duration: Initial 3-Month Contract
Rate: Competitive Market Rate (Inside IR35)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure & Managed Services Engineer on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role combining advanced infrastructure support, project delivery and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will be contributing to infrastructure migrations, cloud deployments and technology refresh projects across a range of professional and regulated environments.
The role is heavily Microsoft focused, with approximately 70% Infrastructure & Systems and 30% Networking, making it an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded engineer with strong Azure, Windows Server and Active Directory expertise alongside Cisco Meraki and Fortinet networking experience.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience operating as a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Infrastructure Engineer or Professional Services Engineer
- Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Azure, M365, Entra ID, Windows Server and Active Directory
- Strong knowledge of Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
- Experience supporting and administering hybrid cloud and on-premise environments
- Experience delivering infrastructure migrations, cloud transformations and technology refresh projects
- Ability to take ownership of technical workstreams from discovery and solution design through to implementation and handover
- Strong client-facing experience, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across infrastructure, cloud and networking environments
- Good networking knowledge including Cisco Meraki, Fortinet/FortiGate, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing and switching
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Experience with Backup, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and DLP/security technologies
- Experience supporting regulated environments such as Financial Services, Asset Management or Healthcare would be advantageous
- Experience developing standardised technical solutions, documentation and best practices
- Experience using AI technologies and enterprise AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude
- Relevant Microsoft, Azure, Cisco, VMware or Fortinet certifications desirable
- Previous experience working within a Managed Services or Professional Services environment
- Comfortable operating in a predominantly project-focused environment, balancing infrastructure delivery with senior technical escalation support when required
