We are recruiting for a Process Planner, who will act as the primary onsite delivery resource supporting a manufacturing capacity uplift programme on an established high‑volume engine production line. The focus of the role is to improve throughput and line efficiency through hands‑on line balancing, operational time analysis, and optimisation of manufacturing processes. The role will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and digital manufacturing teams and will retain ownership for defining and implementing process changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead line balancing activities aligned to takt time on the production line
- Conduct operational time studies and identify process bottlenecks
- Analyse current-state production flow and define future-state processes
- Own and direct updates to Plant Bill of Process (BOP) and manufacturing routings
- Ensure manufacturing documentation reflects revised production requirements
- Support updates to work instructions and visual management where required
- Act as the primary onsite interface between Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and MES teams
- Provide direction to offshore / support Process Planners as part of a hybrid delivery model
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing process planning within a high‑volume production environment
- Strong background in line balancing, takt‑based production systems, and throughput optimisation
- Hands‑on experience creating and maintaining Plant BOPs and manufacturing routings
- Competence in operational time analysis and capacity modelling
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams on the shop floor
- Strong documentation discipline and change control awareness
- Experience with manufacturing process planning tools (preferably Teamcenter Manufacturing / MPP)
- Exposure to PLM, MES, and ERP environments
- Solid understanding of BOMs, routings, and manufacturing change processes
- Background in engine, automotive, or complex assembly manufacturing
- Experience supporting capacity uplift or production rate increase programmes
- Comfortable operating independently in fast‑paced manufacturing environments
