Role Overview

Embed into a multidisciplinary Agile team to understand complex user needs and business context, delivering quality, well-tested and accessible user interfaces based upon existing prototypes. This role is open to both Mid-Level (SFIA Level 4) and Senior (SFIA Level 5) Front End Developers, with responsibilities tailored to experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Build and iterate features and fixes on user interfaces
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure accessibility standards are met
  • Review merge requests and maintain high code quality standards
  • Work with Back End developers to integrate common workflow management capabilities
  • Mentor and support junior designers or trainee engineers in Front End development (appropriate to experience level)
  • Drive business value and ensure alignment between business strategy and technical implementation
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to discussions at departmental level
  • Use specialist knowledge and experience to support technical development within the team

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience delivering accessible, user-centric Front End applications in public sector or complex organisational environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile/DevOps practices and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently while embedding effectively into multidisciplinary teams
  • SC Clearance must be active and verifiable at start date
  • Experience with Node.js Back End integration
