We're looking for an expert Level Designer to join our team. Reporting to the Lead Level Designer, the candidate will be responsible for defining the vision, structure, and execution of level design in a AAA title. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to become the expert level designer at the studio. We are looking for someone with a passion for level design who is committed to setting the bar for excellence across our project. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives on defining best practices and delivering impactful player experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Actively drives forward new processes and workflows across the Level design discipline.
- Key contact for other departments and designers; an expert in Level design.
- Design large-scale, immersive open world spaces that capture specific narrative themes and environmental storytelling.
- Block out exterior and interior 3D spaces for optimal layout, flow, sightlines, and gameplay.
- Script gameplay situations for players to engage with in the context of an open world.
- Work closely with other design, art, animation, and engineering teams to bring the world to life.
Job requirements:
- Ownership of designs through every stage of development.
- Experience building open world games.
- Previous experience working on competitive multiplayer titles.
- Expertise using modern game engines and editors.
- Strong sense of level design principles, architecture, composition, lighting, and mood.

Important:
The interview process for the Principal Level Designer role is made up of 3 stages:
- First interview (60 minutes) – An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our Design team and a People team member. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
- Second Interview (45 minutes) - An interview with our Studio Creative Director to discuss your experience, ways of working and the position on offer.
- Final interview (30 minutes) – A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
