Lucid are recruiting for a new Finance Manager to join our multi-award-winning Milton Keynes based business. Our owner-managed business has a strong reputation in the technology services sector and further growth plans which include business expansion, process improvements and winning net new business.

We are currently seeking a proactive and commercially minded Finance Manager / Management Accountant to join and lead our finance operations.

The Role:

Reporting to the Group Managing Director, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making across the two Lucid brands. This is a hands-on role with a balance of core financial management, commercial analysis, and business partnering. Currently, the business has a small accounts team, so in this position, whilst it is considered senior with responsibility, the successful candidate will work closely with the team where required on any day-to-day duties. The position is office based, in Wymbush, Milton Keynes, working Monday-Friday 09.00 to 17.30.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and prior year, with insightful commentary for stakeholders.
  • Manage all aspects of the month-end close process: balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
  • Monitor and manage daily cashflow to ensure financial stability and forward planning.
  • Produce monthly sales and margin reports to support business performance reviews.
  • Provide departmental cost analysis and engage with stakeholders to manage budgets effectively.
  • Support the year-end close, statutory account preparation, and external audit processes.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Oversee tax reporting (VAT, corporation tax) and submissions to government agencies.
  • Review aged debtors for old and unpaid debt or unusual transactions.
  • Oversee and support payment runs and manage any ad-hoc finance-related tasks as needed.
  • Review all accrual accounts and adjust if required.
  • Work with auditors during annual audit providing detailed explanations and evidence, where required.
  • Checking annual statutory accounts and tax computations, suggesting amendments where required, prior to finalisation and signature.
  • Work in collaboration with the accounts and administration teams providing accounting support and assistance.
  • Collaborate with senior management on projects requiring financial advice and support.
  • Attend to HMRC reviews/audits as required (both on site and by email).
  • Take responsibility for continuous improvement such as process automation, systems implementation, change control, allocation of work within the team.

Experience required:

We are looking for a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE professional with a strong background in financial and management reporting within dynamic growing business environments, ideally in professional services.
