My client is recruiting for an experienced Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join their faced paced, friendly and dynamic team. Your duties will include: * Greeting, serving and assisting customers * Taking, making and returning phone calls * Providing customers with advice and guidance on product selection * Quoting and liaising with customers * Taking orders for deliveries and ensuring that the delivery is completed by transport * Following company procedures for sales/returns * Taking cash and card payments * Balancing cash registers with receipts * Ensuring customer complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently * Ordering special order items-following up returns to suppliers when necessary. * Stock taking and stock checks * Keeping the counter clean and tidy * Keeping counter restocked/merchandised * Keeping up to date with promotions updating displays * Adherence to health and safety legislation Person Specification: * At least one years’ experience of working with building materials * Excellent customer service skills * Ability to manage and prioritise workload * Excellent communication skills * Excellent team player * Compliance with Company Health and Safety and Security and Privacy policies * Good IT Skills
