About the role

As a Senior Scientist within Lubrizols Chemical Design and Synthesis department you\’ll play a pivotal role in inventing and developing molecules with unique properties to meet evolving business needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creativity, problem‑solving and collaboration in a global research environment.

You will lead synthetic projects, optimize processes for commercialization and develop structure‑performance relationships to guide innovation. Your work will directly impact product development, sustainability initiatives and technical support for existing products.

About you

You bring strong expertise in synthetic chemistry and a passion for driving scientific innovation. You\’re analytical, adaptable and skilled at managing multiple projects while mentoring junior team members.

You will also bring:

• PhD in synthetic chemistry with post‑doctoral or industrial experience.
• Proven ability to solve technical challenges using scientific logic and creativity.
• Track record of innovative thinking and accomplishments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for success in a global multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chemdraw or equivalent).

Experience with the following is a plus:

• High‑throughput chemistry and automation.
• Machine learning applications in chemistry.
• Modelling and statistical analysis.
• Process development scale‑up and troubleshooting plant processes.
