As an Electrical Controls Specialist at Lubrizol, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our automated manufacturing and process control systems. You will be at the heart of our operations, applying your expertise in electrical controls, PLCs, and industrial automation to support innovation that advances mobility, improves wellbeing, and enhances modern life. In this hands-on role, you will install, maintain, and optimize electrical control systems, working closely with engineers and technicians to minimize downtime, improve system efficiency, and uphold the highest safety and compliance standards. Your work will directly contribute to safe, sustainable, and future-ready operations at our Hazelwood site.
In This Role, You Will:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, including control and safety wiring, sensors, and industrial automation equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and control system faults to ensure minimal operational downtime.
- Program, configure, and calibrate PLC, SCADA, and related automation platforms to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and maintenance colleagues to ensure systems operate in line with design specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications to support audits and regulatory compliance.
- Consistently apply site and corporate safety procedures, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Proven experience working with electrical control systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA, BMS systems, and industrial communication networks.
- Schematics & Documentation: Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or reliability-focused initiatives.
- Familiarity with safety-critical systems and functional safety standards.
- Additional certifications in electrical, automation, or control systems.
