Our client, an established UK-based manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Buyer & Stock Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a key role focused on managing inventory levels, sourcing components for production, and developing supplier relationships to ensure the best price, quality, and delivery performance.
Key responsibilities as the Buyer & Stock Controller:
- Manage stock levels and place purchase orders in line with production needs
- Monitor supplier performance and chase outstanding orders
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Maintain accurate records in the ERP system and support regular stocktakes
- Collaborate with internal teams across production, sales, and accounts
- Resolve delivery discrepancies and manage warranty or supply issues
Key requirements required as the Buyer & Stock Controller:
- Experience in a Buyer or procurement role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
