Data Research & Economic Analyst

Remote based

6 months contract – outside IR35

Our client is seeking a skilled Data Research & Economic Analyst to support our research initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting economic and financial data. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in economic theory, quantitative research methods, and statistical modeling to deliver actionable insights that inform business decisions, policy recommendations, or investment strategies.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop reports, forecasts, and models that highlight key economic trends and their potential impact on our industry and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from public and proprietary sources (e.g., labor market data, GDP, inflation, trade, interest rates).
  • Perform economic impact analyses, forecasting, and econometric modeling to support business strategy, policy design, or market research.
  • Translate complex data into clear visualizations, dashboards, and presentations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct literature reviews and monitor key economic indicators to assess trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other analysts, economists, and data scientists to produce high-quality research deliverables.
  • Support strategic planning, product development, or regulatory assessments with evidence-based economic insights.
  • Prepare briefing notes, research reports, and executive summaries tailored for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain and update databases of key economic indicators and modeling tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in a data analysis or economic research role.
  • Strong foundation in economic principles, macro/microeconomic modeling, and policy analysis.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, R, Python, or Stata.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in translating complex analysis into clear insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
