6 Months Contract with possible extension. 15 years of IT experience currently hands-on with a minimum of 5 years of experience on Azure, having technically guided, managed, and governed the team.
Role Purpose: Define and govern the right Azure AI architecture, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned to business outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into Azure-native AI solution architectures.
- Design end-to-end architectures using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, ML, data platforms, compute, networking, and identity.
- Select and define architecture patterns (RAG, agentic workflows, streaming vs batch, hybrid approaches).
- Ensure alignment with Azure best practices, security standards, compliance, and governance.
- Select and validate AI Factory accelerators for suitability and architectural fit.
- Review and approve technical designs before and during execution.
- Guide AI Engineers on design intent, trade-offs, and constraints.
- Own architectural decision-making and resolve design-level risks and blockers.
- Review solution readiness for UAT and production handover.
- Support customer technical discussions and build architecture confidence.
This role requires the candidate who is already holding active Security Check (SC) clearance in accordance with UK Government standards.
Primary skills:
- Strong communication skills and experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to gain consensus on complex technical solutions.
- Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing solutions on-premises in the cloud and using hybrid models.
- Hands-on experience in deploying a variety of generative models.
- In-depth experience in fine-tuning and customizing pre-trained AI models with a good understanding of various patterns and practices in AI data engineering and large data processing.
- Develop and deliver upskilling sessions to the customer.
- Python and PySpark.
Secondary Skills: MLOps and LLMOps.
Certifications: Good to Have Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect Expert AZ303 AZ304, Databricks Professional Certificate in Large Language Models, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
