In this role you will form part of a high performing agile squad where alongside the Data Engineering Manager and Principal Product Manager you will lead the gathering of requirements for our new Snowflake data platform. Your solutions will be critical to our data and analytics domain and to the continued success of the company. This is a fantastic opportunity for a data driven colleague to shape the future of Enterprise Data Platform and the data products in the insurance domain.

In this role you will:

  • Act as a data subject matter expert for our new data platform supporting business users and IT colleagues.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and document them at an appropriate level.
  • Once agreed, translate these into stories and tasks for development.
  • Utilise specialist knowledge and experience of business areas, products, and systems to ensure effective and innovative technical solution design.
  • Work with QA colleagues to support the robust testing of changes.
  • Plan and facilitate requirements elicitation sessions such as workshops and 1-to-1 interviews.
  • Conduct system prototype demonstrations to validate requirements.
  • Assist the digital product manager in facilitating the prioritisation of business requirements.

You should apply if you have:

  • Solid understanding of business analysis concepts, methods, and practices in an information technology environment.
  • General and London Market Insurance domain experience.
  • Experience in defining data lineage from source systems to an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Solid understanding of agile delivery methodologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence others to improve processes and application quality.

Nice to haves:

  • Greenfield Data Warehouse build experience highly desirable.
  • Some experience using JIRA or similar agile tools.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and ability to use SQL tools to query a database to retrieve data.
